Screen grabs looking a bit fuzzy

Hi, I am building a simulation for a web tool. I am using screen grabs and layers. The images are captured by snipping tool.

in the photo viewer they look fine but when i import to storyline they look fuzzy and a bit out of focus .

Any ideas how to improve? I have tried varying slide sizes and image sizes in photoshop.

very frustrating. should i use better grabbing tools?

  • Have you tried the one built in to Storyline? Found under Insert - Picture(drop down). It is usually pretty clean.

Ron, thank you, never even noticed that 😄. Have given it a try, but still looks a grainy. Best wishes

        Hi StephenWren

        Thanks for reaching out!

        • Where are you currently grabbing the screenshot from? Is it a capture of another image, resource, or only the specific webpage/tool on your device?
        • Are you experiencing this fuzzy/grainy image when publishing/previewing your course or just when authoring?

One thing you could try is adjusting the compression settings in Storyline 360's Publish Quality window. You can use the slider to adjust the JPG Quality.

If you're still having trouble, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your setup. You can share your .story file in this thread or privately in a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Hi Stephen,

Are the images larger than your storyline slide?

If you are importing full page screenshots then storyline will compress and shrink the image to the slide size.

To get around this you can try to upload your image into smaller sections and then position these on your slide to recreate the screenshot.

I use this site to split my larger screenshots into three or four vertical sections.
