Screen jumping to Embed Object

Hi there, I have embedded a PDF link into my 360 training, so users are able to interact with the PDF. I've republished my training and found that the training will immediately jump to the embedded object.

I recognize there was a solution posted to a similar inquiry last year (Content jumping to storyline block instead of start of the lesson | E-Learning Heroes) and have also tried solutions to prevent this from happening with no luck.

I did consider putting a "continue" block, however, the text added prior to the embed object is needed for context.

Please let me know if there is a solution to this!

Thank you!

  • Hi kathyluang,

    Thanks for reaching out!

You mentioned that the lesson immediately jumps to the embedded object. Does that happen as soon as the lesson loads, or only after learners interact with the course?

In the discussion you referenced, suggestions included adding a Continue block before and after the embedded object. Have you had a chance to try either of those approaches?

I see that the issue with the Microsoft Forms embed was resolved. I'd love to learn more about the PDF you're embedding. Does this behavior happen only with that PDF, or do you see it with other embedded content as well?

If you're comfortable sharing the file, we'd be happy to take a closer look. You can upload it here in the discussion or share it privately in a support case. That will help us better understand what's causing the behavior.

Hi Kelly, thank you so much for the reply!

The jumping happens once the learner moves to into the lesson. I've moved the block up to the top to the top of the lesson, so the jumping is not too intrusive!

I've embedded a story map from ArcGIS in a previous lesson but it does not jump so it seems to be only the PDF embedding that does this.

Thank you so much Kelly! I will share the file via a support case as the information contains internal agency information.
