Screen reader constantly announces time stamps when focus is on the Seekbar

In the new accessible player, when using the NVDA screen reader, if the keyboard focus is on the player seekbar while the timeline is playing, the screen reader will constantly announce the timestamp. This makes it impossible to clearly hear slide audio. Can anyone else replicate this issue? If so, hopefully it can be resolved as soon as possible.

  • Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out and submitting that report! We've acknowledged the bug you're running into and have been able to replicate.

Bug: The screen reader constantly announces time stamps when the focus is on the seekbar.

Our engineers are looking into it, and we'll be sure to jump back in here when there's progress to share on a fix.

  • Hello all!

I appreciate you taking the time to report this issue to us! I'm excited to share that the fix for this bug was released today in Storyline 360 (Build 3.51.24979.0).

Fixed: Screen readers constantly announced timestamps when the seekbar had focus. Now, screen readers announce the elapsed percentage one time when the seekbar gains focus—e.g., 10%. When learners activate the seekbar by pressing Enter or spacebar, screen readers announce the elapsed percentage as it changes—e.g., 10%, 11%, 12%, and so on.

You'll find this bug fix included with other fixes and features in our latest version of Storyline 360.  To take advantage of these enhancements, make sure to update Storyline 360 on your Articulate 360 desktop app!

Our team is available in this discussion or a support case if you have additional questions!

Hopefully a staff member will see this, confirm the issue, and add it to the dev team's list.
