Screen recording with mouse pointer in the wrong place
Hey all,
I was creating a quick tutorial today and after publishing I noticed my mouse pointer wasn't in the right spot at all when viewing the video. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

I don't think there is anything you can do to fix it Jacqueline other than adjust your resolution, do a test and then re-record your screens. This was the only route that worked for me...probably not the answer your want to hear of course!

I am very frustrated as I spent 2 hours yesterday recording a system and the mouse pointer is out of sync. Very very very annoying!!!!!
Why isn't the default set as the optimal setting?
Once recorded is there anything you can do?

The problem with adjusting resolution is that changes how the whole display looks ... So everything looks huge because the resolution does not match "best settings" for my display. It's an unprofessional looking workaround for me and I've had to download other screen recording software.
Hi Caty,
After you changed the display setting did you reboot your computer (and/or Storyline)? I'd suggest taking that extra set to ensure everything is reset as needed and then try recording again.
If you find yourself stuck again, please let me know what version of Storyline, Windows, and what your DPI and resolution are.

I am now having this problem. One of two things happens.
Either...The curser is not in line with what I am doing
Then I change the display settings and the recorder doesn't stay within the boundaries I set and records a way larger screen size than is required.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Paul,
No update to share on this issue yet, but you should be able to see the correct mouse pointer while recording if you adjust the resolution or DPI. Do you know what it's currently set at?

Plus one for the same issue - any word on a development fix.
Would be nice to not have to adjust resolution etc.
Thanks for letting us know, Olivier.
We'll keep folks posted with any other updates on the issue where recording at a high resolution causes the mouse pointer to appear in odd/unexpected locations in Replay recording.
Hello Olivier and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Glad you were able to find a helpful thread and I appreciate you chiming in to share!
