Seeking feedback on a short scenario-based learning module (portfolio project)
Hi everyone 👋
I’m an early-career Learning Experience / Instructional Designer and I’m currently building my portfolio through small, focused practice projects. I’d really appreciate feedback from this community on a short scenario-based learning module I’m developing.
🔹 Tool: Articulate Rise
🔹 Audience: Adult learners / working professionals
🔹 Learning goal: Help learners practice clear, respectful communication and decision-making in realistic situations.
🔹 What I’m sharing:
This is a portfolio prototype, not a finished product. The focus is on learning flow and interaction design rather than visual polish.

🔹 Feedback I’d love input on (feel free to comment on any):
- Does the scenario feel realistic and relevant to adult learners?
- Is the learning objective clear through the interaction?
- Does the flow support learning, or are there points that feel confusing or unnecessary?
- Is the feedback after learner choices helpful for behavior change?
- Any suggestions for improving engagement or reducing cognitive load?
I’m very open to honest, constructive critique — this project is meant for learning and iteration.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look and share your expertise. I really appreciate it!

Hello!
Staring with notes/thoughts as I took the course:
- Intro video: say says something before "Hi"- "Ay Hi?" which I don't think is intended.
- Understanding Pressure: Title orange over color doesn't meet accessibility color variance.
- Understanding Pressure: I haven't seen the text immediately followed by VO this way before. I'm more used to the audio files being other content than the text directly above it. I'm curious about others using it this way and why you made this decision.
- Understanding Pressure "What happens in your brain under pressure?": Really like that you included guidance on how to do the interaction. When I got to this part, all of the phases were already open, so I didn't need to do anything. You may want to change the directions or the process toggle to match the directions.
- Understanding Pressure 2-minute breathing exercise: would have been awesome if the video was the 2 minute activity to do it along with the video to experience it.
- Understanding Pressure Mental Reset: why is the third bullet blank in the photo?
- Micro-Learning: Title orange over color doesn't meet accessibility color variance.
- Micro-Learning person with phone: Why is the screen blank? Metaphor for taking some time to reflect?
- Microlearning: stickies and computer: Why are they all blank?
- Microlearning quiz question about new feature: From a content perspective, this feels like it directly conflicts with the first lesson about taking space and reflecting. I would not personally recommend an overwhelmed person take their lunch break time to do additional learning. The goal of the breaks is to take a break to re-focus and come clear to the next meeting.
- Creating safe space: Both the color and font are very hard to read on the title picture
- Your personal action plan title: the white title is hard to read over the photo.
General comments on the imagery: I really like how much imagery you included and its applicability to the content. There is a mixture of photography, AI, illustration, and "PowerPoint backgrounds". It would be better if you could use one style throughout the course. Not dealbreaker.
Many of your images are earth colors, neutral tones. It might be nice to alter the overall course highlight color from orange to a more neutral highlight color.
Your questions:
- Does the scenario feel realistic and relevant to adult learners?
Yes, this has a lot of practical tools for managing oneself and understanding that overwhelm is commonplace. Builds a sense of security and then skill building for the individual to cope with it.
- Is the learning objective clear through the interaction?
Yes, you did a wonderful job focusing on the goals and I understood why you included the activities and content in this lesson.
- Does the flow support learning, or are there points that feel confusing or unnecessary?
I really liked the lessons you chose. I might flip the micro-learning and psychological safety lessons so that the learner progress is: what is this, why does it matter, how is it going to be handled, what can I do about it, how do I support myself
- Is the feedback after learner choices helpful for behavior change?
On the question at the end with the checkboxes, I missed that I could make multiple responses and the initial feedback was about the wrong answers. I didn't have a wrong one, but I didn't have all the right ones. Otherwise, all of the feedback was helpful and relevant.
- Any suggestions for improving engagement or reducing cognitive load?
I think this is a good portfolio piece. You made a very nice project.
