Slide in Storyline Project performing as it should in when I preview scene, but not when I preview entire project or in Review 360

Has anyone experienced this?

I've got a slide in a storyline project that is supposed to perform a certain way, e.g. show a certain layer at a certain point, then show another layer after that once a variable is activated, but it seems it will only perform under certain conditions. They are as follows:

When I preview the scene the slide is in = works as it should

When I preview the entire project = this slide doesn't work as it should

When I export the entire project to review 360= this slide doesn't work as it should

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
