Software Simulation Size Concerns
Hi there: I've been creating software simulations with Storyline. I am then embedding the simulations in our knowledge base. However, despite maxing out the slide size in Storyline and matching the recording resolution to the slide size (as directed), the overall size of the simulation itself (not counting the frame or guidance boxes) is very tiny, so the details on screen are hard to see in the final product. I do need to record the full screen of the software for these simulations, so zooming in on a smaller section to emphasize only one area is not really an option. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution? Thanks, all.
Hi Lauren,
Happy to help!
It sounds like you followed the recommendations here to make high quality screen recordings in Storyline 360. I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience:
- Does the course also look small when you publish it to Review 360 or to an LMS?
- Have you tested the behavior using other browsers?
Additionally, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can test how it appears when hosted on a web server? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi Joe! Thank you! I will submit a case with a sample file. I appreciate your help!
Hi Lauren,
Thanks for sharing your project file in a support case! I see you've connected with my teammate, Cleo, and he suggested turning off the Menu & Controls in the Storyline Player so that your slide content is maximized.
We'll continue the conversation in your support case, but I'm happy to assist further as needed!
