Spacebar acting as "close" button
Hi. Using Storyline 360 v3.53.25436.0 on Windows 10.
Since the last update (I think), often when I am using the spacebar to start and stop audio to align elements to the VO, hitting it to stop the audio results in the program acting as if I hit "close," so if I don't have changes, it just closes, and if there are unsaved changes, I get the "do you want to save..." dialogue. I'm glad to get this, as I can just hit Cancel, but this is getting annoying.
This has been happening for a week or so. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi, Alan.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing!
We have a bug reported where Storyline is asking you to save your project and eventually closes when you choose to “Save” or "Don’t Save".
I've connected this discussion to the bug report, and I'll be sure to come back to update you when I have some news.

Thanks! Do you have a link where I can submit future bug reports as opposed to just starting a discussion?

Hello Alan,
Absolutely! You can easily submit a case to report bugs/issues and work directly with one of our support engineers!

I'm having this same issue as described above. If the Storyline file has not been saved and I press the spacebar to pause a preview, it brings up a dialog box asking if I want to save before quitting. If it is saved, pressing the spacebar closes Storyline. This is also sporadic, meaning that it does not happen every the time. I'm running version 3.53.25436.0. on Windows 10 Pro.
There are no triggers that use the spacebar for anything throughout the entire course file. This is also happening in multiple Storyline files. It is not related to just one file.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!

Update: I rolled back to version 3.52.25247.0 (previous version) and that resolved the issue.
I've had the same issue in the past (maybe a year ago) and it went away with a Storyline update. Since the last update (same version as everyone above, 3.53.25436.0) the issue has returned, and as best as I can recall, occurs more frequently than last time this happened.
The CSE I emailed said I can try downgrading to previous versions by following this link:

Same issue here. Using the space bar to stop a preview play tries to close the Storyline instance. Please address issue.
Hi Jon,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in the latest update. This is an issue that has been reported to our team. I've added this conversation so that we can share updates with you here.
In the meantime, if you select Cancel on the pop-up, you can continue working without the program closing.

Leslie: "In the meantime, if you select Cancel on the pop-up, you can continue working without the program closing."
This is true only if you have NOT saved your work. If you have recently saved and have not made any changes, then Storyline just closes, no pop-up or option to cancel. Very annoying.

Right Chet. The workaround until this is fixed is to use the preview controls instead of the spacebar for play/pause. Unfortunately it's just second nature for us all I'm sure.
And thank you Leslie. Glad to hear the team is aware and will be addressing this issue!

I am still experiencing this issue. Glad there is a forum and it is being worked on.
