Storyline quiz embedded in Rise causing problems

I've embedded a Storyline 360 quiz into a Rise course. Everything functions fine except for a fill-in the blank quiz question. As soon as I click "continue" from previous question, the screen jumps back to the previous Rise block. I can resume the quiz by scrolling down, but I'd like to resolve the jump as it's distracting.

You can see my course at: https://rise.articulate.com/share/rDSVzsSQk0adL8bVbjZuTvnfYAanjil7

Thank you,

Caroline

  • Hi Caroline!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Testing your course on my end (in Google Chrome), I was able to reproduce the same behavior you described. After answering and submitting Question #2, the page bounces up slightly, back to Lesson #5.

Our development team is tracking a known issue that causes:

    • Storyline block auto scrolls when jumping to the next slide with a data entry field

I've linked this discussion to the bug report so you can be notified as soon as a fix is in place!

In the meantime, as a workaround, we suggest:

    • Make sure the entire Storyline block is in view.
    • Resize the Storyline block (Small or Medium) to fit the visible viewport.

Thank you for your patience! I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!

  • Hi Steven,

Thank you. I made some adjustments to my course, including making sure that all the elements on the screen were away from the edges. This fixed the original course that I reached out about.

Now I'm having the same issue in a different course. It's  not a consistent response - it doesn't always happen in the same spots. The places it happens most frequently are the Emma, Jeremy, and Mary scenes, which are found in the SL Course Are They Eligible (lesson 2). Review link should be the same. I've tried the same steps and it hasn't worked.

    My course as at: https://rise.articulate.com/share/TE1-9q9UtAd5x7QByN5P4vWGYvKf11kW

Any TA greatly appreciated. Thank you!

      Hi Caroline,

I took a look at the Emma, Jeremy, and Mary interactions and didn't observe the same jumping issue that I did in the first course that you shared. I also didn't see any data entry fields which is what's identified as a possible cause of the bug.

Would you mind sharing a Peek 360 recording of what you're seeing so we can take a closer look at the behavior? I'd like to check if its related to the bug that my colleague Steven mentioned.
