Sudden Resume Issues

Hello,

We are suddenly having intermittent issues with resuming in our most recent publishes.

We use
scorm 1.2
"Always Resume"
"Restricted" Navigation
Modern player
and allow users to view previous slides after they've been viewed.

Suddenly, instead of occasionally getting that little masking screen when the content is launched, which has the round "play" button to launch into the content... a user will launch the section and it will immediately dive into the slide that they left without presenting that screen first.

When that happens, it will resume them, but every slide which they had already previously viewed, will be completely locked.

Has anybody else seen anything like this?  Thanks!

  • When testing in Scorm cloud, I get an LMS Initialization error first, and then it does the same thing.  It places me on whatever the slide is that I am resuming on... and locks everything behind it.

  • I'm willing to submit a support ticket if this seems like a new problem .  Sometimes we get the initial screen that has the play button on it.  Everything works if that shows up and we press "play"

    Intermittently, on resume we may get an lms initialization error, and that screen does not show up.  The user is immediately placed on the resuming slide, but everything behind it is totally locked.

  • This must have to do with the version (the latest) of Storyline 360.  Never had this issue before and now it's happening to everything we publish.  Going to revert versions and see where it goes back to working.

  • Works fine, up until this version:
    <!-- version: 3.80.30988.0 -->

    All content published in the following versions, intermittently gives an LMS error (more often errors than not), and locks everything behind the resume point, even though it was already viewed:
    <!-- version: 3.82.31354.0 -->
    <!-- version: 3.83.31444.0 -->

      Hi Eric!

      Sorry to hear you've run into this issue with the resume behavior from your Storyline course!

      Thank you for providing such detailed feedback! I see that you've also opened a support case and connected with my teammate Chester. Great idea! It looks like Chester is conducting some tests with your file and should be following up with you shortly.

      We can continue troubleshooting through your case to help keep all information in one spot.

  • Hi, Francesco!

    Sorry to hear you experienced the same issue as Eric. If the problem persists after updating to the latest version of Storyline, please let me know, and I'll be happy to help! You can reach out here or privately in a support case.
