Text position in box

I can't say when it started, but Storyline is behaving weirdly with text in a form or a text box. See the attached screenshot.

The left text is in a rectangle I filled with white. No matter what I change in the settings, I cannot get the text any closer to the top edge of the shape.

The right example is a text box that I filled white as well. The text pushes out of the box on top and no matter what alignment I choose, it does not want to stay within the boundaries or the box. If I extend its size to the bottom, the text moves down, but I then have a text box thats twice as tall as the text within it.

On both the formating is set to zero pixels distance to the edges.

I cannot find a way to make this work and I never had an issue like that in the past.

  • Nope, no line returns. Just those two numbers. Though the behaviour is what I'd expect if there was one.

      Hi Niels,

      Happy to help!

I suspect that this may have something to do with the font that's in use or some other formatting element since I was unable to replicate the behavior on a new Storyline 360 project file using the default text format.

The shape that I used in the screenshot is a rectangle with a white fill. Have you tried using a standard font like Arial to see if this changes the behavior? If using standard fonts doesn't work for you, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi Jose, I think you are right. I needed to simulate a pixel font and used Minecraftia as a font. Switching to a different font did indeed make a difference.
