Trigger a new Storyline project to open

Hello, hoping there is a solution to my issue. I have a large Storyline project that will be used in English, Spanish and French. I want the user to click a button for another language that would then launch the other language version of the project. This project is huge, so having all the slides in multiple languages in one project is not feasible. Thoughts on how to do this? I tried a trigger to open the file from the HTML download on my computer, but I got a blank web page in that instance. Thanks for your help.

  • Depends on how you are distributing it, most LMSs these days will manage languages. If not possible you could try and combine which is the easiest. Or embed them all as web objects with a trigger to mark complete via javascript. Or you could try something like simple scorm packager.

Your method will not work as it will need all the files not just the web page

Question: Are you making duplicates of all the slides and the only thing that is changing on the slide is the text? If so, you could start at the beginning and asking the learner to choose the language. Then setup so SL only shows that particular language.

Yes, but this project is huge and I am not convinced that copy/pasting the new slides (in the other languages) with the triggers would actually work as designed. If it were a few slides I would definitely do that.

You can import the whole thing from the file menu. How big is big?

My main concern was the branching/triggers but I just ran a test and actually it imported just fine using the import>Storyline. Thanks Phil!
