Undo option?
I don't know if I missed it, but if there isn't one already, Rise really needs an "undo" option. I just accidentally deleted text from a course I was reviewing and it took forever to find the original text to restore it. A simple undo option would have saved a lot of time.
Hello everyone, 🎉
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update adds the following feature:
- Save and restore your work with a click via an easy-to-access version list that captures manual saves and export events.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available. Let me know if you have any questions about this update.

Seriously, UNDO is the very first thing expected in an editor tool....
- BlancaSermak-20Community Member
It's there... it just shows up VERY faintly at the bottom left of the screen when you do something in the course, and it disappears right away. Very weird.

I agree, I accidentally deleted an entire segment in Rise. There is no way to undo that. And had to start from scratch
- fabiofonsecaCommunity Member
Yes, you have 3 seconds to realize you made a mistake and click "undo", otherwise its lost forever .... weird is a good definition

So, if you miss the "undo" in those first 3 seconds, that's it? There is no way to fix after the box fades? I deleted the wrong block and I missed the pop-up... That's pretty frustrating!

In this string Blanca comments that it is hard to see the Undo feature. I want to suggest that the new color scheme used in Articulate products (light Gray) is difficult for anyone to see especially those with less than perfect vision or older (both in my case). Perhaps an overall option to change the view color so it's more vivid.

I just lost a huge chunk of text in a rise text block. I highlighted a word and started to type over it when the editor removed EVERYTHING before it. I am on the chat now with support who indicate that they will let me know within 24 hours IF the devs can recover my lost work.
1. The way the cursor moves around inside a text block without your explicit permission is absolutely ridiculous. Just try inserting a new paragraph between two existing paragraphs in a text block. It will not let you do it. The cursor always moves down to the next paragraph if you stop typing for even a second. Unacceptable.
2. Undo. Ctrl-Z. Are you kidding that this doesn't work? It works in a text block in Wordpress. It works right here in this text box. It doesn't work in Rise. This needs fixed as priority #1.
I appreciate that support and the devs are busy and that they're trying to help, but 24 hour turnaround is ridiculous to know whether you have to redo 4 hours worth of work due to a crappy text editor.
And, yes, I know, I should have created a duplicate copy of my course before starting to edit. But that is such a hack. Imagine if Microsoft told you that "to be safe" you should make duplicate copies of your Word docs before you started typing in them. Not just save, but make a backup version of every document every time you work on it, just in case Word really screws up your document and undo just doesn't work.
I know I'm ranting because I'm frustrated. But this needs fixed as an absolute top priority. And until that's done, we should not have to wait so long to have the devs be our Ctrl-Z.

Rant justified and you have my gratitude.
This is a major reason we are loathe to use Rise for many more projects, as well as to introduce it as an easy-to-use tool for faculty.
Hi there Blanca,
Oh no! I know what a pain accidentally deleting something can be, and I'm sorry you had to spend so much time finding the original text. In our January update, we added an "Undo" feature in Rise that'll allow you to undo deleted blocks to get them back, but it sounds like you deleted text within a block or lesson, correct?
That sounds like an excellent feature request, and I'd be happy to pass it along to the team for you. And in the mean time, if you're someone who is going to be working fast and furious through Rise, perhaps a good method would be to create a duplicate copy of the entire course, and that way you'd at least have the content accessible to you if you needed to start over?

Hi Alyssa,
Command Z on my Mac isn't bring back the block I deleted and I don't see in the January update how to do so. Any additional information you can share? Thank you!

I've done the same thing, wishing there was an undo! I will have to make a change to see if I can find the hidden undo button!
I have also found the quotes to be a problem. Flexibility to put the quotes in where appropriate would be great. I put a sentence before the quote and it forces the text into the quote, there would be too much space to add a separate block. I ended up having to setup at the end of my comment and at the beginning of the actual comment (which are not the same fonts)
By the way, it would be great option to put the person's name under the photo and make their name a larger font.
All in all, more control with text alignment and font size through the application would be great.

I am going crazy over this!!! please fix this. It's a BASIC function that should be standard. I also don't understand why you can't edit the text color. If I want to change the "block box" to a dark color, I have no option to make the text white. This is limits me... I know rise is "non-designer" proof... so keeping things simple is important! BUT for designers this is very frustrating.
Hi Scott,
I wanted to reach out about your post regarding custom font colors, and let you know that we just released another update for Rise – this update includes a feature you may find extra exciting: Personalize your Rise courses with custom fonts for headings and body text. Just upload your font files in the theme settings.
Please be sure to check out our community post here for additional information as well as a quick video guide.
Happy customizing, and please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

So many times you delete something on accident or think you're deleting one thing and accidentally delete something else. I deleted the wrong block and realized it after about 5 seconds... so it was too late to undo. This causes so much rework and you can't always get the course exactly the way it was and it's a colossal waste of time. There needs to be a "recycle" or "trash" bin. Move the items people delete and then let them "empty" the bin when they are sure they don't need it any more.

I'm surprised that the Undo feature still isn't happening after all this time. I lost some text yesterday which brought me to this forum. Rise, pls give the people what they want!
