Use Template as Slide Master

I do I use an existing template's (e.g., Synergy) backgroud in a slide master? I tried to copy the background of the Synergy slide to paste it into the slide master but I cannot grab the background of the Synergy template. Can someone help me do this? Thank you for your help with this.

    • If I understand correctly, you want to include a background image from the Synergy template in your Slide Master. Is that right?  
    • For context, could you share which slide(s) in the Synergy template you want to utilize in your Slide Master?
