Using a Pre-Test to Guide Learning
A pre-test can set the stage for your online training and give learners a preview of what's to come in the course. You may also want to use a pre-test to allow learners to bypass course content based on their score.
In this example, Trina created a next-steps lesson to give learners three options for how to proceed after completing the pre-test. She hid the sidebar menu and used a button stack block to design this eye-catching branching interaction.

Why and How I Created This Pre-Test in Rise 360
Now we'd love to hear from you! Tell us how you've used pre-tests in your Rise 360 courses, and share some tips for other designers who may want to try this in their next e-learning project!

Pre-testing would be a great feature in Rise!

Any update on Rise Pre-Test feature? Would be really, really beneficial to be able to send the score of more than 1 quiz in Rise to LMS, similar to option in Storyline. Thank You! A timeline of when this feature might be implemented would be awesome also.
Thanks for chiming in, folks! There isn't any update yet on the Rise Pre-Test feature, as well as the feature of combining multiple quiz results. These aren't in Rise 360's roadmap either, but we'll keep this thread posted for any updates on these requests!

We would like to use this Pre-Test both for "testing out" and as a way to assess the effectiveness of the course material on learning. If we can collect both pre-test and final test scores, we can see if learner scores improve after taking the course.
Hi Garvin!
Thanks for checking in! We appreciate the feedback on how the Pre-Test feature could benefit you when authoring in Rise 360!
I've included your voice in the Feature Report! We’ll update this discussion as soon as there is any news to share about this.

We have use cases for this feature as well.

We have a lot of use cases for a pre-test too- specifically one that links to the skill you need to work on, instead of an overall percentage score. So for example you seem to have great understanding of A and B but failed at understanding C and D, therefore we'll take you through some content about C and D.

Hello, can you explain a bit of how you were able to do that?

Would love to seee this feature also - I am currently trying to build a quiz where the user has to reset and take it again if they score lower than 80%, and this would be ideal!

Will this feature be offered in Rise 360?

Did anyone come up with a template/solution for this? I would like to have the option that Hanna mentioned. I think having that on some compliance courses would help learners engage knowing that if they can answer some of the questions they don't need to complete all the course.

We also have a use case for the ability to test out. In it's simplest form, it would be great to provide a quiz that, if failed, launches the user into a full training and, if passed, marks that user as complete. To dig deeper (maybe as a second or third iteration of this feature) it would be great to be able to point users to certain course materials based on their initial quiz performance. For example, if I miss questions 1-5 related to topic A, I will be assigned training on topic A, and if I miss questions 6-10 on topic B, I will be assigned subsequent training on topic B.

Hello, I'm also very interested in this. Could you please notify me when such a branching solution in Rise is implemented or let me know when approximately this can be expected?

Hello Kerstin,
Thank you for sharing your need for a pretest feature in Rise 360. We are still gathering votes for this request, and I've added your voice to the existing feature report.
I have no timeline to share, but we'll surely update this post once this is implemented, and you'll be among the first to know!
