Variable and Button Sets not counting Properly

I've tried to create a survey with 10 questions with a scoring of 0-4 for each question. I based my slides on this demo: demo_Tracking_Responses.story from https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/tip-track-responses-to-custom-questions-or-surveys

I have added the variables to the screen to help troubleshoot

I have a problem I can't seem to overcome.

1.  When reading a question and you choose one button in the button set but then change your answer, the first variable chosen stays counted and impacts the score.  So, If you choose 2 but then change your answer to 4, 6 will be added to the overall score.  I need only one variable to be counted per button set, no matter how many times someone changes their answer on a question.

Is someone able to help?

  • You've got one variable for each button. Instead, you should have just one variable for each button set (as in the demo file).

For example, if someone clicks "never" in question 1, that should set the associated number variable (lets call it Q1) to 0. Clicking "almost never" would set Q1 to 1. "Sometimes" would set it to 2, etc.
