Does anyone else find Rise is slow these days?
Rise has been very slow and quite glitchy as of late.
I initially thought this was an issue with my computer being overloaded and slow as a result. However, we've tested this on multiple computers and in different locations to ensure it wasn't an internet service provider issue. Most assets will take some time to load or are just glitchy overall (like the block template library not even displaying all templates sometimes). The worst are the microlearning courses - these will take over a minute to fully load and you can't do anything on the screen. If you scroll down to a new section, then it will take some time to reload all of those assets as well.
Anyone else experiencing these issues?
Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we just released a new update for Rise 360!
This update fixes the slowdown issues some of you were experiencing when:
- Adding new Blocks
- Deleting Lessons
- Duplicating Blocks
- Adding Templates
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available!
However, we are still tracking a separate bug in Rise 360, causing slowdowns for authors typing content into Microlearning courses. If you find you are being affected by this bug, please connect with our team through a support case.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this update, or the issues you've reported!

Our team (working from different locations) has not experienced any of these issues.

Thank you KarlMuller. That's interesting. I'm getting reports, as I type this, of various issues. One member of my team, who is located in a different province than me, says that the pages keep crashing on them and keeps getting an error "Something went wrong". We've all found that opening the block template library causes the page to go unresponsive. Not sure why our account is being targeted specifically 😩 I wonder if the number of assets, templates, and courses may cause some issues? I had never experienced this in the past, even when working on different accounts with arguably more assets in those accounts. Very stumped at this point
Hi, AmandaDouglas-e!
What you're describing sounds very odd and certainly isn't expected behavior. It was a great call testing this across multiple computers and locations. Here are a few questions I have:
- Does the issue happen consistently in the same spot of a course?
- Does it happen across multiple courses?
- Do all the computers have some type of security software that could be causing a delay? You'll also want to be sure these network endpoints are enabled on each computer.
If there's a file that you're comfortable sharing with our team, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what's going on. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

The only issue I found was when I was deleting a lesson. It kept saying "Processing" .. But, once I added more content to that lesson, then deleted it; it worked.
Hi Suzi!
Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!
Was the Rise lesson you were trying to delete, completely empty? We're currently tracking a bug in Rise 360, which causes:
- Deleting a lesson that has no content gets stuck on 'Processing'.
Please let me know, and I'd be happy to include your voice in the bug report. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I've been having issues the last 24 hrs. Rise is behaving erratically and timing out when adding new blocks or publishing to SCORM. It feels like server upgrades are happening in the background. Similar experience in Storyline earlier today too when trying to publish to Review 360.
Hi RichardMatas307!
Sorry to hear you've run into these setbacks while authoring in Rise and Storyline!
Are you experiencing these timeouts in Rise regardless of which Block is being added, or is the behavior specific to one? Also, does clearing your browser's cache, or using an incognito browser make any difference?
For Storyline, if you've already confirmed you are working locally, and a repair of your Storyline installation doesn't solve the issue, please connect with our team through a support case. They'd be happy to continue troubleshooting with you!

I actually was going to open a topic about it when I ran into yours.
Since yesterday I get the error: something went wrong. Please try again or contact support if the problem persists. So here I am. It is really annoying because I'm working on a Rise course but I'm not able to make any changes because every time I get this error and have to start all over. I already tried another browser but it doesn't make any difference.
Someone from support who can help me with this?Hi tweline!
So sorry to hear you've been locked out from authoring in Rise 360!
I've opened a support case on your behalf so our support engineers can work with you directly on this issue. You're in excellent hands troubleshooting with them, and they should be connecting with you shortly!
In the meantime, does using an incognito/private browser window improve the behavior at all?

Hi StevenBenassi thank you for opening the support case. The problem is fixed now thanks to their help!

Yes I've found it slower in the last week to load courses when editing. My colleague has said when using the share link and review links its also slow and has failed to load.
Hi HVfb0f498d-053b!
Sorry to hear you and your team have run into slowdowns while collaborating in Rise 360!
As I've shared with others, a helpful first step is to clear your browser's cache, or try a different supported browser, to rule out any browser-related issues. If that doesn't do the trick, is there a chance any network security permissions from your organization could be getting in the way?
If you're still having trouble, our support engineers would be happy to take a deeper look at this behavior. You can connect with them, here!

Totally! I've just logged a support ticket for this issue. I am having same issue as you are. RISE360 is extremely slow to load and slow to respond to any actions - e.g. typing content, deleting blocks, and adding blocks. Essentially all actions. Using Chrome and have cleared the cache, and restarted my PC but the issue persists. I've tested this on Edge and it's no different. However other websites are loading and responding well, it is just Articulate (including the discussion boards) and RISE360.
Hi MeeraLynn-69f97!
So sorry to hear you're also experiencing these issues when authoring in Rise 360! I understand how frustrating that can be!
I see that you're currently working with my colleague Mick, through your support case. We can continue the conversation there!

Yes, RISE has been acting up especially the more I edit a course. It has also been reverting changes I have made when I revisit some courses forcing me to make back up copies because this happens so frequently I can't trust my builds.
Also when you add custom storyline blocks, they are not available until you close out Rise and reopen the build. It will get stuck in processing, at least for me. I even let it spin 1 hour and it never processed unless I close and reopen.
System Win11pro, custom High Performance i9 24-core processor, SSD drives etc. and I have a dedicated Router to my machine.
So it's not my machine which is only a few months old and top of the line for now.- KarlMullerCommunity Member
I typically work in Rise for about 4 hours a day, so I'm very familiar with average Rise response times. However, I have not worked in Rise for about 2 weeks. Today I spent the entire day editing in Rise, and found that editing is 40 - 50% slower than usual. Using the Block Library Menu, and inserting new blocks, is very slow. Good luck inserting a block from the block library.
I thought it may be a time of day issue, but came back much later to check, and local time is now 9:15 PM and it's no better. Sadly for me and some others it seems, the Rise slowness issue is certainly NOT resolved. Based in Western Canada if that helps.

Good reply thanks for your perspective. I work in RISE for my client about 8-10 hour per day at all times. I am based on the US West Coast but my clients are either in West Coast Eastern time zone or in Australia. RISE since they added AI (which I opted out of) is when it went really buggy including Storyline 360 of which I do not use AI either. I think it's the incorporation of data feeding OpenAI as their subprocessor, using it or not, is overloading the port feed or their servers. IMO.
Not sure if a fix is possible at this point.
Oh and be careful, I've also experienced on a regular basis, RISE reverting changes I've done when it is running very slow.

Yes, I had to get a new laptop, it's better now with the Alienware
Hello Javid_S,
I'm sorry to hear this was a setback for you. I understand using Alienware has helped your experience in Rise 360. I'd like to learn more about your previous setup!
- Could you share the specs and setup of your previous machine? I'd like to share this with our engineering team.
- What browser are you using to author in Rise 360? Do you notice any difference in behavior if you use another supported browser?
- Did you notice the slow response time with a specific block type or across all blocks you edited?
- To ensure Rise 360 is working properly, you'll want to make sure these network endpoints are enabled on your new laptop as well.
If you are experiencing this behavior in your new setup, it would be helpful to see a screen recording of this behavior. Feel free to share in this thread or privately in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hello Javid_S,
Happy Monday! Our team has made a couple of improvements, and we're checking to see if you are still experiencing slow response time when authoring in Rise 360. Do you notice any change?
If you are still encountering this, seeing a screen recording of your experience would be helpful.
We appreciate your feedback!

Hi Luciana,
It seems Rise is now back to it's normal level of performance.
Thanks for looking into this.
