Video play/pause toggle on click
Hey Everyone,
I have embedded a screen recording video on a slide, and would like to disable the default pause/play function that occurs when the user clicks on the video. The only work around that I have found is covering the video with a hotspot. Is there a way to disable this feature? Thanks in advance for any advice/input.
Hi Maureen,
Is the audio within the video or is it a separate file? Typically the hotspot or shape would need to cover the entire video - and if the audio is a separate element, they wouldn't be linked. I may not be understanding your set up either - so it may help if you're able to share a sample slide here with us.
Hi Adam,
Thanks for sharing here - even though it's old, it's always good to have new solution pop up and shared just in case anyone else comes across it.

Adam's suggestion needs to get more credit and visibility. He just provided the most elegant solution to my issue with video. I was adding a second video with controls to a new layer, but with this method my user's no longer have to download a second video. Great work Adam!
Thanks Marty - and if you mark Adam's suggestion as "Helpful" just below his post it'll help it bubble to the top so that it's more visible to other users. Glad that it was able to get you set up as needed!

Done.
Thanks Alejandro for sharing here - and the English was great. That's a nice find you shared as well in regards to preventing the user from clicking on the video.
Glad to hear it Pablo, it's a much older discussion so I'm not sure if Alejandro is still subscribed - but if you need any other help just give us a shout.
Thanks for popping in to share Douglas :)

For newbies like me: When putting the shape on the slide, right click on the shape and select "Format Shape" this is where you will see the option to change the transparency.
This is the only thing I have found that will work. Even a layer seems to allow me to start and stop the video and that really interferes with any other objects I have on the screen, as everything falls out of sync.
Thanks Blake!!!

I think I just answered my own question. I unchecked the "hide other slide layers" box and that seemed to remove the gray shade over the video.
