What to do….

Hello,

I have enjoyed reading and learning from the discussions on this page. This is my first post and I’m looking for some clarity.
I’m creating training videos for customers who need to navigate a website and follow processes for completing desired outcomes. I’m hoping to use RISE360 and am trying to decide if I should create how-to videos for process that needs to be followed or if I should use interactive images with audio to explain steps in process (I could also do a combination of the two). I’m feeling stuck.
The users are adults with moderate tech knowledge.

    Hi Mark,

My team and I make training content like this quite often! We use a mixture of both methods you mentioned, though most often we make full videos that demonstrate the process first, and then we reinforce learning by following up the video with either questions, or an interactive Storyline scenario that takes the learner through the process they just saw.

I find the video delivery to be particularly advantageous for demonstrating a process because I can easily draw the learner's attention to key points on the screen either with a zoom animation or an onscreen annotation.  Plus, if you have access to Techsmith's Camtasia, this method becomes even more efficient.

All that being said, I do think either of the approaches you mentioned would get the job done.

Best of luck to you in this endeavor!

  • Hi Mark! 👋 Welcome to the community! I like what Justin shared about both approaches and possibly using a mix of both. Madison McCartney created a really cool Rise 360 example that includes a mix of interactions, text, and videos. You can check it out here. Hope that sparks some new ideas for you!
