Black line in Rise sidebar
Hi!
Does anyone know how to get rid of the black line in the sidebar? It shows up on the PC, tablet and phone previews and blocks the navigation. This is my first attempt at a rise course.

This appears to happen in safari (Version 13.1 )
Hi Stephen. We're investigating this issue, and I've tagged this discussion so we can update you with a fix. For now, it happens in these environments:
- Safari 13.1 (15609.1.20) on Mac OSX 10.15.4
- iPhone 11 using mobile Chrome and Safari
I'm sorry for the trouble!

the most recent iOS update for iPads (13.4.1) causes this as well.

Looks like this bug with the black bar is back in iOS 14.2 on iPhone and iPad
Thanks for letting us know, ETSI Layout. We'll send you an update if we receive new information that would be helpful for you.

Thanks. It seems to be a random glitch. Hopefully that means it can be resolved without too much trouble. But it is glaring and need to be resolved.
Hi, folks! We just released a fix for the issue where users would see a black vertical bar in the Rise 360 lesson sidebar.
Please republish your course to take advantage of this fix, and let us know if you run into any more trouble!

Hi-
The black bar is gone, but not there seem to be several other glitches. On the 2nd section- the text comes in all on top of itself in random ways. The attached image is an example, but there are several glitches, such as the page starting to scroll automatically and hiding the header image on a given page.
I have refreshed the browser, cleared the history, etc. but it keeps happening. It does not happen in firefox, or seemingly on my phone. I published it to a website and it happens there in safari as well, but not in firefox.

Attached it another example. This page was fully loaded. It cleans up once I start scrolling. I am wondering if there is a way to reset it without my having it to start from scratch.. It seems like it is just reading too many edits or something.
Thank you,

sbeck@studyskills.netHi there, Stephen. I see what you're saying! I did some preliminary tests, and it looks like turning off block entrance animations from the course settings helped. Let me bring this glitch up with my team. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hi Stephen,
You mentioned that you remade the whole course. Did you create a new course that has a new Share link, or is this the most current share link? https://rise.articulate.com/share/OTCgkbqh1UlLpMBmKHHnQ5mctWFH45XK#/lessons/
Also, is Safari the only web browser where you're experiencing the load problems and text overlay scramble?

Yes it is only in safari. At some point it is hard to tell if it is Rise or if safari has been refreshed so many times as I edit the course. So I clear the cache fairly often to try to get a fresh look. Also- the issues now are minor. This all started with the weird black line which has not reappeared at all.
This link seems best bc there are three published versions. “6 days ago" has the black line. “3 days ago” has text sort of popping in all over the place. the one I just republished is much better, but still has minor load issues.

Mostly (or only?) with the “Image & Text” blocks. Some load flat (no animation). some load perfectly. Some load but have garbled text until you begin to scroll, or until the load completes.

Thank you,
Stephen Beck
sbeck@studyskills.netHi Stephen, good news! We fixed the issue in Rise 360 where entrance animations were jerky or jumpy when viewing a Rise 360 course in Safari.
If the problem happens again, please share a Peek 360 screencast with us by clicking here, and we'll be happy to help!

Hello! Are you seeing a vertical black bar in the sidebar menu when you view a Rise 360 course in Safari? If so, we released a fix for this problem in May 2020. Please republish your course to take advantage of this fix.
If that's not what you're seeing, let me know, and we'll keep digging!

This question have been solved.
Hi there! It looks like you're launching this course in the Wechat Mini app, but we only support Rise 360 courses in mobile browsers.
Hi Andre!
Looks like you've worked through this with our support team and they've got this documented. We'll update you and everyone once we have any news for you that will help.
Thanks again for bringing this up!
