Feature Idea: Automatic Video Segmentation in Rise AI Course Creation
I’ve been trying out the “Create Course Using AI” feature in Rise, and it’s been amazing so far—especially how it converts a full video into a complete course.
One thing I was hoping for (and would love to see in the future) is the ability for Rise to:
- Automatically break an uploaded video into shorter segments, and
- Align those segments with the AI-generated course outline, so each lesson has its own short, focused video clip.
Right now, the video is treated as a single unit, but having automated segmentation would make the course much more modular and learner-friendly.
Just sharing this as a feature idea—would love to see something like this added down the line!

That’s a solid feature idea — shorter segmented clips really do make courses more digestible, especially when the original video is long. Automatic detection of natural breakpoints (topics, transitions, pauses, etc.) would save a ton of manual editing time and make the AI-generated structure feel much more aligned with how people actually learn.
I work with a lot of streaming/video content on the side (testing apps like Cinema APK and trimming walkthrough videos), and breaking things into small, focused segments always improves engagement. Having Rise do this automatically would be a huge win for creators who rely heavily on video-based lessons.
