Hi, here’s a single-file HTML note editor for ‘Rise’ that: Is transparent (Rise controls the block background), Persists one “main” note across all lessons by default (same file/origin), Let’s the learner manually start a brand-new unique note with a button, And lets them switch between notes later (so they don’t lose the previous one). How it behaves Global by default: Everyone starts on a single “Main note” (main) that persists across all lessons (since it’s the same file/origin). Start New Note: Clicking the button creates a brand-new unique note (timestamp+random ID), switches to it, and saves independently. Switch back anytime: Use the dropdown to switch between notes you’ve created. Each version is stored separately in localStorage. Safety: Nothing is deleted; each note keeps its own content. This keeps a default “one perpetual note across lessons” behaviour, while giving learners (or you) a simple manual way to branch to a fresh, unique note whenever needed. Instructions: just copy the code in the Word file below and paste into a Rise ‘Code Block’. If you find it useful, let me know.87Views2likes6CommentsRise Flashcard: Card background color or image
Hello I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the flashcards themselves in Rise. We are wanting to use our company's branding and image on the flashcards (front and back of cards). Then we need to be able to write on the cards. This would be a nice feature to be added to Rise please. At the moment, I can only change the card background to an image or text, but not both together. Thank you Sumant667Views0likes41CommentsHow to customize text block in Rise 360 to show code
Hi there, I'm writing a training course/tutorial that involves code creation in Python. I want to include a block of text that shows some code snippets (Python). I'd typically show these in Courier font, indented, maybe with highlighted terms in different colours. Like this blog post, really https://medium.com/data-science-collective/model-context-protocol-in-net-06c6076b6385 I can't work out how to customize a paragraph of text to use a different font. The options enable me to change size, italicise, bold etc, but there's no font option. Courier font is a standard font -- do I have to customize the theme somehow?18Views0likes1CommentTIP: Build a Rise Course with a Pretest
There is a way to include a pretest in a Rise course! Rise doesn't have pretest functionality built in—at least, not yet. But it can be done using a few Storyline blocks, some button blocks, and navigation restrictions. This demo shows how to let a user skip the content if they pass. If they fail, they have to go through the content. Rise course with pretest Caveats: The program can't tell the LMS if the user passed the pretest or if they went through the content. And it can't tell the LMS the user's score. But it can tell the LMS that the user "completed" the course. *** UPDATE 2024-01-17 *** As per Ingrid Marcum's comments below, there's another caveat. If a user fails the pretest, exits the course before proceeding to the content, and then relaunches the course, the Storyline block will reset. In other words, the user would be able to retake the pretest. As Ingrid said, the Articulate staff "confirmed that the storyline blocks will always reset when revisiting the page in Rise." So, alas, this method isn't a solution if you're concerned about users doing that.1.7KViews3likes37CommentsAudio Throughout a Course
Good morning, I have completed a course for a client and they ask: Is it possible to include audio in this training? It will increase accessibility. If yes, please include in the tests as well - multiple choice can be exceptionally challenging for certain learning disability and neurodiverse people. I understand there are some areas where audio can be added, and I’ve used those options in past courses, but I don’t see a way to include audio in other sections, such as the introduction or text-on-image blocks. Could you let me know if there’s a workaround or recommended approach to meet this accessibility request? Thank you very much for your help. Cheers! MicheleArticulate Rise: is it possible to hide a section's list of lessons on the cover page?
I am creating a course that will have several sections. I want to include the sections on the title page so a user can quickly navigate to the section when needed, but I don't want the list of lessons displayed when the user opens the course. This will be on the cover page.22Views0likes2CommentsSuggestion: Adding a custom asset library
Hello Articulate! With the addition of the new Custom Block, I have been playing around with certain graphics and elements that I upload using the Images option. Sometimes I reuse certain elements across multiple custom blocks for consistency in my design (e.g. icons and shapes made outside of Rise). I would love the ability to build my own asset/image library, where images I upload can be stored in a place where I can easily access them when clicking on the Image Upload feature. The image options would then be: Generate with AI, Content Library, Upload, and Asset Library. This would be easier than saving custom blocks with elements I need as a block template and wouldn't require me to upload the same graphic again and again. Hopefully others are interested in this as well!7Views1like1Comment
