Overlapping Audio in Presenter

I am having a problem with the audio from the question layer in a Quizmaker quiz overlapping with the next slide. It stops for the feedback audio, but then when I hit "continue" and move to the next slide, the question layer audio continues to play in addition to the audio for the next slide. I looked in this forum and it seems there were some entries from 4 months ago about the same issue. The answer was to create the quizzes in Storyline. I haven't learned Storyline yet and I have a very tight deadline. Is there really no solution to this problem?

  • Hi, Cindy.

    I'd be happy to help!

Would you be able to share your file either publicly here or privately through a support case so we can take a closer look at what's going on and help you troubleshoot?

  • Hello Cindy!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your project! I know that our Support Engineers are the best fit for fixing this type of snag, so I've started a case on your behalf. You should've received an email confirming that your case is in our queue. I'll be following along to see what does the trick!

I have the same exact problem.  While the audio is voicing the question, the user can go ahead and answer it before the audio has completed and advance to the next question, but the audio from the previous question continues to play and now you have the audio from the former and the current question playing at the same time.  Client is insisting I get this taken care of.

  • Hi, Jack.

    Thank you for reaching out!

Is this issue also happening in Presenter for you? Are you able to share your file either publicly here or privately through a support case so we can see what's going on and help you troubleshoot?

I opened a case and the Articulate experts took a look, but they were not able to come up with a solution. We were on a tight deadline so I had to take the audio out of the base layer of the quiz questions, which resulted in a less-than-ideal situation. I guess the long-term answer is to start using Storyline, which is fine, but I work in a huge multi-site merged organization which has widely varying expertise and systems. Many of our local institutions are comfortable only with PowerPoint-based trainings and even Presenter was a stretch for them. So now I will be creating trainings in multiple formats.

  • Hi Jack,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in Quizmaker 360.

We do have a bug reported to our team where the audio continues to play on the following slide if the feedback is set to by question.

In the meantime, it looks like the workaround is to choose none for the Feedback.

You could also import your slides to Storyline 360, which is also included with your Articulate 360 subscription:

I ended up moving my presentations to Storyline 360 and there was no
      problem with the overlapping audio.
