alternatives to tracking students

Our college recently changed from WebCT  to Canvas LMS.  This took place while I was out on sabbatical spending every waking moment in Articulate developing a wealth of new online learning materials for my students.  The functionality of my work is now limited to students using it without me being able to capture any of the data in terms of if they did it, or how they did.  I am trying to adjust my own aspirations to now meet my reality!  Is there SOME way to at least track if a student did or did not do an activity even if the full functionality of the SCORM is not supported?  I am open to any suggestions!  Thanks!!
