Assessment of Learning taken form e-learning

Hello folks,  I'm a brand Spanking Newbie to Storyline and need to pick people's brains about assessments. 

I'm interested in provoking people to think harder about the topic not just a quiz.  I'd like a blend of marked answers along with more interactive questions such as " What will you change in future/ What did you consider when answering this question?"  These could then feed into our measuring the effectiveness of the course by comparing what they said they'd do - to what they did after the course...

At first attempt the Articulate-Online reporting doesn't really offer the granular "John said he'd do this, Susan's essay question said that".  However, I don't really know what I'm doing.

Is there an ace tutorial I'm missing?  Also, can we get the answers out of a Storyline module without using Articulate-Online? 

Essentially any big wins on assessment gratefully received!
