Lightboxed slides to show as visited

May 04, 2023

Hello, one of my slide contains 4 boxes triggering the lightboxing of 4 different slides. Unfortunately, once lightboxed, the slides do not show as "visited" and this is causing pb in the tracking completion of the module.

How can I 'force" them to show as "visited"?

Thanks a lot!

I cannot make it work on a slide. It works with object but not slides :-(. How do you proceed? 1. create True/False variable then 2. add trigger changing the state of the variable to "true" when the timeline of the slide starts? It does not change the status and my slide still shows as not visited :-(

Hi Céline,

There isn't a way to mark a slide as visited unless a learner actually visits the slide and not just view it through a lightbox. As possible workarounds, you can:

  1. Subtract the number of lightbox slides from the number of slides that your learner needs to view to get a completion mark. For example, if your course had 5 sides and 2 of them were lightboxed slides, you can instead set the number of slides needed to be viewed to 3.

  2. Track completion of your course using a different method. For example, you can use a completion trigger to mark your course as complete at the end of the course instead of tracking by the number of viewed slides.

Hope this helps!

Hi Celine,

I'm happy to chime in! I searched in different places, including Storyline 360's Version History. It's unclear whether the behavior of lightboxed slides changed from Storyline 1 and 2 or the reason for it if that's the case.

I just want to confirm that, currently, when a slide is lightboxed, it's not technically viewed, and lightboxing a slide is more of a preview.

I'd like to hear the opinion of other community members who had experience using lightboxed slides in Storyline 1 or 2!
