Help with animations after opening lightbox

Hi guys

Looking for some help on the slide I have sent you.  I have clickable shapes which opens up additional onscreen info.  This info fades in and out automatically with a voiceover on each layer.  The 2nd box has a button within it so I dont have the exit animation on it.  Click the button to go to the lightbox.  When I return, i would like the animation to then automatically fade out before clicking onto the next shape.  Tried variables with not much success and probably got it in a right old mess!

Would appreciate someone solving the for me.

Thanks
Roz

  • Roz,

Here's a solution that might work for you.

You already have exit animation on the Key Points layer that works.

    1. Apply the same exit animation to the ATP layer.
    2. Create a cue point on the timeline by right-clicking the timeline BEFORE the exit animation.
    3. Create a trigger to Pause the timeline on the ATP layer when the timeline reaches the cue point you created in step #2.
    4. Create a text box on top of the ATP window and type the letter X.
    5. Create a trigger that resumes the timeline on the layer when the user clicks the X.
    6. Add an exit animation for the letter X.

This should allow your window to appear with a fade as usual, pause in case your user wants to click on the video button, and then resume with a fade out when the user is ready by allowing them to click the exit button "X" on the top right. (See file attached.)

  • Hi Roz,

You may have forgotten to post the Storyline file. If you can post it, perhaps someone could look at how you have programmed it. :)

Thanks.  I think as its over 100mb.  Strange as its only 2 slides (113mb).  Any other way for sharing?

Ah that is just the nudge I was needing.  Thank you so much.  I have also delayed the X appearing so people arent tempted to close it straight away!
Appreciate the very prompt response and resolution
