Memory Low?

Feb 22, 2021

Hello, I was building a large course in Storyline and I went to save it and wouldn't save, I got an error message saying that my memory was low...now I only had an 8 GB DDR RAM chip in the computer, I went out and bought and installed two 16 GB DDR RAM cards, so I now have 32 GB RAM ...I went to hit save again, and still go the same message that my memory was low??? There is no way that 32 GB DDR RAM will not suffice to save it. Can you please let me know what's going on?

I attached a screenshot of the error message.

Hey Parker!

I see you have a case open with our support team, and Lianne pointed you to these two threads:
  1. Question on how to merge 4 .story files into one project without merging all the slides
  2. Linking multiple Storyline projects.
She also recommends the following ways to streamline your production and reduce the file size of your courses:
  • Move persistent content to master slides.
  • Compress images/videos before bringing into Storyline
  • Break the course into different sections while you’re developing it. When you’re ready to publish, you may then import the other sections and publish the course as a whole.
  • Open the Media Library in Storyline and manually delete objects that are not being used.
Lastly, you can check out this forum post regarding some best practices for lengthy courses.

Feel free to let Lianne know if it helped or if you have any other questions!
