Being brave enough to bail out of a project...

Not really sure about this one...

How do you know when enough is enough?

I have just been working on a wonderful project, however, as we went further and further in...the scope changed and it was becoming obvious that while Storyline COULD be used for the project, a simpler, more "PowerPoint" style tool being worked from in-house was the best answer for everyone.

The client actually made the call and pulled the plug last week, and whilst we all seem to still be friends and have parted amicably, this is the first time it has ever happened to me this way, and I'm wondering if others have had this happen to them.

Just wondering if I should have done anything differently, and interested to hear of any other (freelancers) who have had to do this - and how you handled it.
