Hey everyone! I'm looking for fellow Articulate users that would be interested in starting a user group in the Greater Pittsburgh (PA) area. Anyone in the tri-state area (PA, OH, WV) is welcome—even anyone that is in western MD!
Interested? Please fill out this sign-up form and we'll get you set up!
Since we're spread out geographically, the group is starting out as a team on Slack—ideas for in-person events are more than welcome in the #GettingStarted channel!
Great, that makes 3 that are interested. Do either of you have colleagues at your organizations or in the area that might be interested as well?
A couple of questions for us to think about while we get the group started:
How do we want to structure the group—physical meetings or virtual?
What would you like to get out of a Pittsburgh Area user group?
How much time do we have to commit to this sort of activity—during the week and/or on weekends?
I'd suggest we look at something like Slack to create a space for us to collaborate virtually, at least at first. As the group grows, we could look into physical meet-ups, but I don't know that we'd have enough to talk about with such a small group to start.
Could you weigh in on the questions I posed above? Here they are for your convenience:

I think there might be a little bit of confusion—this topic wasn't regarding an opportunity for working together. We're looking to start an Articulate users-group for people located in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
The goal of the group would be to share best-practices and provide support/inspiration to those who are working in the software. Here are two posts that better explains the benefit of starting a local users-group, and best-practices from folks who have started groups in their area.
It appears that you are looking for contract opportunities for your organization and/or contractors to partner with your organization—correct? If so, the Articulate Jobs board may be a better resource for you.
Michael, I really appreciate you getting this started!
I think virtual meetings would be good to start with.
I'm open to any topics. Maybe sharing free sites we like is a good starting place? I use S2 and don't plan to upgrade to 360 (cost and compatibility).
What if we have the meeting over the "lunch hour" during a day during the week. That way people should be able to participate. I'd think that holding it on weekends will not produce high attendance.
Sorry for the delay in moving on this, but invitations to a Slack Team just went out for anyone that filled out our survey. Please let me know if you submitted the survey and didn't get an invitation!
Here's to starting the Greater Pittsburgh Area Articulate User Group!
We set up a Slack Team to get things started—there should be an email in your comcast inbox from mike@mpjoneselearning.com. It might have landed in your spam folder.
I'm interested in any of your virtual meetings, We are located near Harrisburg in the mid-state region and looks as though it's split between Philly or Pittsburgh for anything close to us.
Please let me know if I should still fill out a form somewhere?
We have the Slack Team, but it's admittedly not gotten much traction to this point.
Feel free to submit your info with the google form hyperlinked, above. If you already did so, I'll double check it on my end—I don't recall getting a notification for a new submission.
It's been a while since this group has seen any activity, so I wanted to bump it and see if anyone in the Greater Pittsburgh Area or surrounding areas wants to join our Articulate User Group.
If you are, fill out this Sign Up Form to be added to the mailing list and Slack team:
