AI Voice Availability Differences Between Storyline and Rise – Anyone Else Noticed This?
Hi there,
While working with AI voices in Storyline and Rise, I noticed a small inconsistency in the voices available between the two tools. Some voices that appear in Storyline don’t seem to show up in Rise, and vice versa.
For example, voices like Jessica — Woman | Young | English | American accent | Dialogue | Cute and Brittney – Social Media Voice – Fun, Youthful & Informative are available in Storyline but don’t appear in Rise (at least in my environment).
It’s not necessarily an issue, but it does make it a bit challenging to maintain voice consistency across courses, especially when some modules are built in Storyline and others in Rise.
I’ve already raised a support case with Articulate regarding this, but I was curious to check with the community as well.
- Have you noticed similar differences in AI voice availability between Storyline and Rise?
- If so, how are you maintaining consistency across projects?
Would love to hear your experiences!
Thanks!

Agreed - I used Mark - Natural Conversations Male | Younger | Dialog for an eLearning in Rise, and then when I went to add him in Storyline for a demo I created, he wasn't there. Had to go back and change voices so the demo would match the rest of the eLearning.
Hi MaryAquino,
Thanks for reaching out! I want to confirm that I'm seeing Mark on my end in Storyline 360. Happy to learn more!
- Are you running the latest version of Storyline 360?
- What keywords are you searching in the search bar for the Voice Library within Storyline?
If you are still unable to locate Mark's voice in Storyline 360, please feel free to share a screen recording in a support case so we can continue the conversation.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

This might be part of the issue. I can't seem to get Storyline 360 to update, I don't think...What version SHOULD I be using? If it's not this version, that may answer a bunch of Storyline questions I've got 🤣

We are noticing that voices that show up in Rise aren't even in the Voice Library in Storyline. For example, we would love to use Mark in both Rise and Storyline.
Hello LeAnnDrake,
I understand that you are not seeing the AI Voice Mark when working in your Storyline 360 project file. Here's a closer look at my experience when searching for Mark voices in the Voice Library!
- In Rise 360, what is the specific title of Mark's voice you are looking for over in Storyline?
- When opening a brand new .story file and accessing the Voice Library, do you see the voice available?
If you are still experiencing this while running on the latest version of Storyline 360, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your project file in Storyline 360 and a copy of your Rise 360 course in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

HI SarahSlade, thank you for jumping in! Yes I agree Rise has more voice options compared to Storyline.
However, my concer in very spesific. The voice “Jessica — Woman | Young | English | American accent | Dialogue | Cute” that is available in Storyline does not appear to be available in Rise. While there are several other voices named Jessica in Rise, none of them sound the same as the one available in Storyline.
We currently use this specific voice in most of the courses developed in Storyline. However, when building courses in Rise, we typically have to use a different voiceover due to this limitation.
If there is a way to make the same voices available in Rise that are currently present in Storyline, it would greatly help us maintain consistency in voice narration across our courses.

I've noticed something too, but the other way around. The Storyline 360 version has 67 voices, but you can access over 5,000 in Rise 360.
Hi SarahSlade,
Thanks for reaching out.
In addition to the pre-made voices, Storyline authors also have access to an extended Voice Library. This library offers thousands of options that can be filtered by age, gender, and use case.
You can find the library via the Generate AI Audio window, by selecting My Voices > Voice Library.
Let me know how it goes!

Here's the Rise Voice library...
And here's the Storyline voice library. Am I looking in the right place?
