AI voice no longer available
Hello,
for one project I used a voice from the library, specifically Alex British Male Narration voice.
After a few days, upon re-entering the project for changes on the audio files, I could no longer use his voice because it was not available. What happened?
If Alex's voice will no longer be available, unfortunately I will have to recreate all the slides audio files.
Will the voice become available again or will it no longer be available?
Thanks
Tania

I would ask Articulate for permission to clone the recording of the voice you already have. Then you could continue to use that voice in a 3rd party software. You could also look for the same voice in other voice engines. I know I recognsie some of the voices in Articulate from other sources.

Great work around, but it kind of defeats the purpose of paying extra for the AI voice narrations if we have to use 3rd party software when Articulate decides to stop using them all of a sudden.
Hello TaniaFerrario,
I see that you've opened a support case and that you're working with my colleague Phil. You are in excellent hands!
We'll continue the conversation over in your case.
Have a great start to your day!

Same thing happened to me today only with Jessica Ann Boggart voice. Now I'm going to have to redo my entire project. 😠
Did they provide you with a solution?Hi donnaboucher!
Sorry to hear you're also struggling with AI Text-to-Speech in Storyline!
I see that you've already opened a support case, being handled by my teammate Ian. Smart move! It looks like Ian replied to your e-mail, sharing insight and suggestions.
Let's continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot.

Hey StevenBenassi and LucianaPiazza,
I understand the need to have the conversation in the support ticket, but I would love to know what the resolution is if this happens for me as well.
Hello HunterBlake,
Happy to help! From the case, it looks like starting from the beginning and re-inserting the text to be generated did the trick for Donna.
I recommend starting fresh with adding AI-generated Text-to-Speech if you can't find one of the voices in the future. As always, we're happy to take a closer look at your future files through a support case!

I had created my file earlier using the AI assistance with Paul’s voice. However, today when I tried to record again with Paul’s voice, I noticed that his name is no longer appearing in the text-to-speech options.
Could you please guide me if this issue is from my side or suggest how I can resolve it? Since many of my modules are already recorded with Paul’s voice, it will be quite difficult to re-record everything with a different option. I would really appreciate your help in finding a solution so I can continue the project smoothly.Hello bvkapadia,
I see that you're working with my colleague Ian in a support case regarding the removal of unsupported AI-Generated Voices. I want to confirm that this change was in coordination with our latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 104).
We'll continue the conversation over in your case, so everything is in one spot!

Hi. I have raised a case as one of voices I am using for a program of 16 eLearning modules has disappeared. Are you able to a. confirm that the voices that were removed cannot be used anymore, b. provide a list of the removed voices, and c. outline the plan for your customers who are having to do significant rework please?
I'm sharing the update from this thread! We have worked with our ElevenLabs partner to bring back legacy voices.
Hi all! We hear your frustration about the recent removal of several AI-generated voices from Storyline 360. It's clear this change has significantly impacted your projects, and we understand how disruptive this has been, especially without advance notice. We’re genuinely sorry about how this has impacted you.
In response to your feedback, we have worked with our ElevenLabs partner to bring back legacy voices, meaning the legacy voices have returned to Storyline 360. What does that mean for you? You will now see the legacy voices listed again.
We're working with ElevenLabs directly to establish better communication channels so we can provide more advanced notice of any future voice changes and what the impact will be for you as authors.
