Background Audio Issue - Deleted Audio is Showing up after Publishing (but not in preview)
I tried adding background music in Storyline but decided that I didn't like how the volume changed when my narrating audios played. So, I have both deleted the audio playlist and selected "No Background Audio". However, when I publish to video, the originally selected background audio plays, but only in certain parts of the video (and it seems to change which slide it falls on each time I publish). I've checked every slide and layer and there is no background music audio present. There's also several minutes of this background music audio at the end of my final slide (easy enough to crop out, but curious if this helps identify the issue). The issue doesn't happen in Preview, only when Published.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update: I tried copying all of the slides into a new project (that never had background audio) and the background audio still comes through after publishing (in the slides and at the end).

For anyone following this thread, I was unable to determine a fix in Storyline. However, I found where Storyline saves the audio files. I was then able to pull the problem video into Movavi, separate the audio from the visual, delete the audio (which contained the unwanted background audio) and reintroduce the individual audio clips. Yes, this took a bit of time to match up the audio clips with the visuals, but in the end I was able to create a video without the background audio. I hope that's helpful if anyone else runs into this issue!
Hi Angela,
I'm sorry to hear that you ran into this behavior, and thank you for sharing what fixed the it for you.
We aren't seeing this issue being reported elsewhere so there's a chance that the issue is file specific. With your permission, I'd like to run some tests on your project file to see if I can replicate the behavior. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi, just for you to know I have the same issue.

Thank you for the offer! I believe Mark Glino is doing some investigating with the files right now based off the support case I submitted.
Good call on opening a support case! Yes, my colleague Mark is already testing it and he'll notify you via email as soon as his investigation is done. Your case is in good hands, and we'll continue this conversation there!
Hi Blandine, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes Community! Glad you're here! 🥳
Thanks for reaching out!
I'd be happy to share the workaround steps that Mark provided to Angela.
You can fix the problem by following the two options below.
1. Remove the audio before importing the video. This can be done using a video editing tool before adding the video to the course.
2. Trim the video using the video editor in Storyline. This way, only the animation will be included when the course is published, eliminating the audio.I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions!
