Captions disappear when timeline is paused
I would like to make it so the Closed Captions stay even when timeline (video) is paused, for example if user has problems hearing and reading, and would like to take his time.
How can I achieve this?
Hello Everyone,
I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 77, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the enhancements we've included:
- Closed Captions disappear when timeline is paused using a trigger
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!
Hi Andy,
I appreciate you checking in. Our team is still looking into a fix for this one, but we'll let you know as soon as we can.
Hi, folks. I'm excited to let you all know that Update 22 for Storyline 360 is live!
We fixed the issue where closed captions disappeared when a slide was paused (and sometimes they disappeared or overlapped when replaying a slide).
Check out all the new features and fixes here, and here's how to update Storyline 360 to enjoy everything this release has to offer. Be sure to let us know what you think!

Hi Katie. Is Storyline 3 updated also?

Hi Katie, as Andy said, my problems are with Storyline 3. I use an old, dated version, to avoid problems with captions.
Thank you
Appreciate you checking in, Andy and Cristina!
This isn't fixed in Storyline 3 as of yet, but I promise we'll share all updates here once we have them and update our Storyline 3 Version History page. If we can be of any other help, please don't hesitate to let us know!

Hi
It looks like 3 months ago this issue was fixed in the 360 version. I can't trace any change in the update history for Storyline 3. Have we got a fix yet for this problem in Storyline 3 or is this another issue that there is no plan to fix in three and just expecting that people will upgrade to 360?
Hi Lorraine,
We're finishing up work on the next update of Storyline 3, so as soon as that's ready we'll share details here. As Katie mentioned, you'll see the same fixes in Storyline 3 that have already been released to Storyline 360.

Hi,
I was very happy to know this wonderful new, so I downloaded the new version but...I am very sad because the function is not yet performed and I'm wasting a lot of time to install and uninstall...download...
Does anyone still have the same problem (Captions disappear when timeline is paused)?
I'm trying 3.6.18134.0 version
Hi there, Cristina. I'm seeing that using the play/pause button on the seekbar does not make the captions disappear. I noticed that clicking directly on the seekbar, however, did make the captions disappear. Here's a short screencast of what I mean.
Does this match what you're seeing? I'm going to document this behavior so we can investigate a more consistent experience whether using the play button or clicking on the seekbar.

Hi
No, my problem is always that caption disappear when timeline is paused, as it happens since the July update was made (if I'm not wrong).
So I have to work with an outdated version to see what I want and I attach to you (made with Storyline_Perpetual_Release_3.3.15007.0 kindly sent by your staff in September 2018).
I don't want have visible seekbar and I had the right way to obtain!..then there was an update and all has changed.
Hi Cristina,
Thanks for explaining what you are seeing in your course with the video to demonstrate.
I created a similar example and my closed captions are staying in place just like you've displayed:
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
