Thanks for sharing your project file!
There were a lot of triggers in the affected slides and I didn't know which ones were the correct triggers that you wanted to keep so I ended up recreating all of the triggers in the slides. I've attached an edited version of Slide 1.2 which now automatically resumes the audio in the base layer when the help layer is closed. Let's use this file as a starting point, and then we can make changes to it as needed.

Thank you so much for this Joe! It's resolved! I went back in and deleted a bunch of triggers and found that everything is working perfectly now with less clutter.
I have one more question, I couldn't seem to find an exact answer online.
I've figured out how to toggle the sound on and off on the base/main layer.
Is there a way to ensure that the sound stays off when another layer is shown on the same slide(i.e. the help layer)?
I find that the audio will be muted but once I click on the help button, it resumes despite the sound button on the base layer being off.
Is Articulate also capable of allowing users to toggle sound through the entire project as opposed to per slide? Similar to how closed captions can be applied to the full project and toggled? I'm using a custom button and not the player.
