Changing numbering in story view

Hello,

Is it possible to change the numbering of the slides in Articulate Storyline 1? We've moved around the content and the numbering of the slides now doesn't match the content.

Eg 4.2 in story view refers to Module 1.2 in terms of content.

Thank you very much for your help

Nicola

      Hi Trellis!

Thank you for checking in! We don't have an update to share yet on the option to renumber the menu in Story View. We'll keep you updated in this discussion when we have news to share!

  • Hi guys,

Still no update on this? It's been six years since the issue was first raised. What's going on?

  • Hi, Alyssa.

    Thank you for reaching out!

While I don't have any news to share about the feature request, I'd like to get a better idea of what you're experiencing.

You mentioned that when publishing to Word, it didn't show the slides in the correct order. Are you only referencing the numbering, or are the slides also out of order?

If you go to the Player Properties > Menu, you should be able to reset your menu, so it matches your Story View:

Let me know if this helps!

Nine years later and this is still an issue. The only way to change the screen numbers, as far as I can tell, is to cut it (Ctrl+X) and paste it (Ctrl+V) where you want it... that automatically updates the number again. This should not be so difficult and the fact that the learner doesn't see these numbers doesn't mean it's not an important part of the functionality. When exporting a script, the screens will be out of order if not corrected. When you have complex branching, it's very tedius to fix it as I've described above because as soon as you cut a screen, it starts breaking links that you have to fix.
