Closed Captions in Exported Video File
Hi there,
I am trying to test if I import an MP4 video file and add closed captioning in the Storyline 360, when I publish it as a video my closed captions are not displaying. I can see them in the preview but when published as a video they disappear. Please help :)
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 73, we’ve included important fixes and new features!
One new feature we’ve included:
Boost video accessibility by including closed captions when publishing projects as MP4 video files.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!

I would also like to see the ability to add captions to videos added. Although most of the time we are able to publish in HTML, there are occasions when we need to publish as MP4. We have proprietary information that must be behind a firewall, so we can't upload it to YouTube and use their captioning service. In addition, we are a government agency, which requires us to have be ADA compliant. Like someone else said, we also have a large population of English as a Second Language speakers and the captions help them comprehend the content more easily. Having the option to publish an mp4 video with captioning - even if it was open captions - would be extremely beneficial. I hope this feature is added soon!

i'm disappointed that the captions are not included when you publish to mp4 format. is there anyway that this can be added?

Right this seems like a super basic feature and it's forcing me to use other authoring tools even though I prefer Storyline.

I'd also like to know when this will be fixed
Thanks for following up on this feature!
Here's our current feature roadmap. This is what we are currently prioritizing in upcoming releases. A feature for including closed captions when exported a video file isn't on our immediate roadmap yet. You can see our process for managing feature requests here. When we have an update on this feature, we'll follow up in this discussion!

I need captions when publishing to an .mp4. This request has been open for a year. Any updates on when it might actually happen? We do not use YouTube, but rather an internal Knowledge Management system.
I am reduced to recording a video on my screen if I want the captions to show...not very professional.
Thanks,

I would love this functionality as well.

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to see my captions when I publish to MP4... Should have come here first. With a Team license with 12 seats, we definitely need this feature for the instructional videos our team presents. Without the ability to run captions on our instructional content, we will have to find solutions outside of Articulate.

Yes it's frustrating, there is no way to have CC for an MP4 within Articulate... Even Camtasia you have to manually add CC. The only way is to produce in HTML and add the CC with captions (with a human voiceover) or there is a CC generator with the robot voice but we don't like to use that if we don't have to.

Maybe the "staff" will take the hint and add as a feature request... for Accessibility especially Section 508, this is an important issue.
