"Contains" variable
I have to believe that someone has already posted this question, and/or it has already been submitted as a feature request, but it seems like there's no way to add a "contains" text variable in Storyline. You only have two basic choices: equal to and not equal to. Has this already been requested?

Hi there Michael,
Are you referring to a condition, by any chance? If so, I believe you're looking for something that would adjust a variable or trigger on condition of possibly a text field containing a specific word, or number. Is that about right?
If so, I do believe I have seen a similar request in the past. It's quite possible that there have been feature requests for this, but the more we get for a feature the better! :) If you do decide to share a suggestion with us, please try to be as descriptive as possible.

That's pretty much it. I want to display an image when the timeline begins only if a certain variable contains certain numbers or letters. So something like . . . when the timeline begins, display {this image} only if {this variable} contains any of the following: A, B or C. If not, show {this other image}. But I'll submit a feature request just to be safe.

Looks like we got it, Michael!
Thanks for sending that in :)

Just out of curiosity, does the attached do what you you're looking for? Typing in a, b, or c displays one image while any other letter displays another.

Any news on this feature?

One more note on my usage scenario: if a text-varaiable contains a certain word it should add +1 to a certain number-variable. For example:
My text variable has the following content: "apple, banana, blue, apple, red, yellow".
The word "apple" appears two times, so my number-variable should have the value "2" (start value=0+1+1)
Hi Stefan,
I haven't seen a lot of other requests for this functionality, and it's not yet a feature added to Storyline, but I appreciate you adding your voice here!

I need this feature as well. Is this so complicated to add it?
Hi Andrea! Thanks for adding your vote to this feature request. Here's an inside look at how we manage feature requests once we receive them.
