Hello, Sharon!

Thank you Alyssa,
I have followed the steps in the article. However, I am not using a quiz to trigger the complete course trigger. I am using a variable.
When the timeline starts
execute javascript (checks current date against expiry date)
If variable course expired = true then
Complete course = Incomplete /Failed
If variable course expired = False then
Complete course = Complete /Passed
The variable code is working correctly but when Course expired = true the continue button in Rise is still showing.

Thanks for those details, Sharon!
I don't have experience with Javascript myself, but I know there are others in the community who can help with this!
If you'd be willing to share a copy of that Storyline slide, folks in the community can take a closer look and suggest a solution.

Thank you Alyssa.
The javascript code is working and setting the complete course trigger correctly.
It is Rise that seems to be not recognising the trigger that is more of the problem.
I have attached my storyline file below.

Thanks, Sharon!
I took a look into your file, and after reviewing your triggers, I think this interaction is working as intended in Rise 360.
The key is, a complete course trigger will always enable the Rise continue button, no matter if it's considered incomplete/failed or completed/passed.
If you do not want the continue button to be enabled when the expired layer is showing, remove the complete course trigger from that layer.
Watch this 2 minute video to see how I tested your file and how it works in a Rise sample course.
After watching the video, let me know if my explanation answers your question!

I'm having this issue of the Continue button in Rise not activating after the Storyline block above has completed. There are two instances of this in my Rise course with different SL blocks. I have had success with many Rise courses incorporating SL blocks and the Continue button but now it's not working. Wondering if something has changed recently in Rise.

Hi Gary, would you be willing to share your Storyline file so we can take a look? If you prefer to share it privately, you can do so by uploading it using this link. We'll share our updates here once we've had a look at your file!

Hi, I am having the same issue as Gary. It used to work great with the Storyline block and Completed divider. Now I have set a course complete trigger in my Storyline but it's still not noting it as completed to activate the Continue button. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue with the "Complete the content above before moving on" not unlocking in Rise. Here is a condensed copy of the SL block (1 slide). Many thanks!
Hi, Alice! Thanks for the sample file - super helpful. When I add it as a Storyline block to my sample course, I'm seeing the continue block unlock immediately when the Storyline block comes into view. I expect this to happen since the Storyline interaction is completed as soon as the timeline starts on the slide.
I still have to click the continue block to move forward, but I'm not being blocked due to not having completed the block above. Does that match what you're seeing?

Thanks, Crystal.
I learned through tears, trial, and error that the CONTINUE button only showed in preview, not while I was testing the interaction itself.
I did trigger ending the course and all is well.Hi Alice! I'm glad to hear that everything's been sorted out!
Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. Have a good one!

Thanks
The key is that Rise has to be in Preview for that functionality to work. I do not think that was clear in any documentation.
