Crop Image Tool not working in the latest update (Aug. 2025)

Hi,

I just installed (and then quickly uninstalled) the August 20, 2025 update (3.103.35263.0) and the crop image tool began to cause me issues. When I adjusted the edges of the image, the whole image would move, making it impossible to edit.

I'm building software simulations these days, so I need to use a lot of screenshots. Rather than try to troubleshoot the issue, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the July 22, 2025 version (3.102.35072.0). It resolved the issue right away.

Thanks for the heads-up! I faced the same issue after the August update — super frustrating when the whole image shifts instead of cropping. Reverting to the July version sounds like a solid workaround. Hopefully, the dev team patches this in the next update. Until then, rolling back seems like the best option.

  • Hi BenjiLukas!

Great to see Ron has been helping you!

I can confirm we previously experienced a Storyline 360 bug, which caused the Crop Image Tool to behave erratically. I'm happy to share that we released a fix for this issue in Storyline 360 version 3.103.35301.0. After updating to this current version, you will no longer have any issues with cropping images in Storyline.

Please let me know if you need anything else!

  • Hey Benji

Articulate Support is aware of this issue. Dropping back to Ver 102 is the current work-around (or using the Size and Position feature to Crop).
