Customising the hotspot cursor.

I have been using Storyline since 2004 and huge fan, especially this Heroes community, with each of us users helping others out when we need. Definately makes you feel valued and heard, so thank you Adam and the Articulate senior leadership team.

One thing though, I have seen a feature request for customising the hotspot cursor/indicator object for Freeform Questions for the last 8 years and still no progress on this. I am in a position whereby my end users may prefer a different way to show this instead of the current offering (spinning ball and blue pulses).

When will this be available as an option please? Unless anyone else have a workaround or solution around this? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Campbell,  To mimic a hotspot question without the in-built design limitations, convert your slide into a pick-one quiz instead of a hotspot quiz. This allows you to mimic a hotspot quiz on the front-end and use states to customize what appears in lieu of the spinning ball. Attached is a super basic example.

  • Hello campbellc2c9,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand that you'd like the ability to customize the hotspot cursor/indicator object for Storyline Freeform questions.

We are still gathering votes for this feature request, which has not yet risen to the top of our roadmap. I'm glad that Ange was able to share a workaround in the meantime.

I informed our product team, and we'll let you know if there are any changes that might help. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions or requests.
