Here's a sample Drag and Drop that provides almost everything people have been asking for.

As long as you don't use them to drag, or as targets, or in triggers, the groups won't hurt you. But if you ever include them in one of these functions, you are likely to regret it.
The attached sample will line the items on the drop target. Using your slide, I created larger, invisible (filled, transparency 98%) shapes, edited them, and pasted the blue rectangles with words onto the Normal state.
I created new larger targets, and with a lot of trial and error got everything to line up.
