Embedded PDF opening in current window

I would like to display a PDF inline with text in a course and give users the option to download it. I embedded a link to the PDF hosted in antoher Rise course and it looks great! However, when you click on the PDF in SCORM format, it opens in the current window and there's no way to navigate back to the course; you have to close the window and start over. As a work-around I've simply added the PDF as an document to download.  Is there a way to make the link open in a new window/tab of a browser in SCORM format?
