I have a Rise 360 course which opens attached PDFs in a new browser window within Rise, but which opens in the existing window when accessed through our LMS. This means that when a user opens and then downloads the PDF, if they then close the window rather than use the back arrow, they drop out of the course. The DOC files in Rise and the LMS both download automatically (which is the desired behaviour). What can be done to either: 1) have my PDFs automatically download or 2) have my PDFs open in a new browser window when selected?
My settings were configured to open the PDF in a new tab. I see what was happening now. It is opening in a new tab, but it's not in the same window as the active course. You are toggled back to the main browser window and can't see the course content.

Hi Marcus,
How a PDF behaves is primarily controlled by the browser settings for each individual device accessing a Rise course as shown below.
Chrome
Edge
Firefox
