Error Message when upload published Rise file to SuccessFactors LMS
Has anyone been able to import a published Rise SCORM 1.2 to SuccessFactors LMS?
I have created a Rise eLearning module, published it for LMS (SCORM 1.2) and attempted to import the .zip to Successfactors LMS. However, I keep getting this error: An error was detected: getzipFile(filename, uploadID,addXMLFilesOnly) error occured while retrieving the file from db. I have researched on SuccessFactors Help portal and they recommend removing the </IOM> from the manifest file and re-zipping. However, I cannot find any </IOM> reference in the manifest file.

Thank you, Dana! I will share this with the admins at SuccessFactors and reply back when I have an update!

Thanks Alyssa! This would be a big win if we could get this figured out. :)
Yes, it would! By the way, what web browser do you typically use to upload Rise 360 courses to SuccessFactors?
Could you try uploading the SCORM file I shared using other browsers and let me know if the same problem happens there?

I typically use Chrome, however I tried it in IE and Edge and got the same error. IE and Edge cause a lot of issues for us, so we would not be able to use those browsers if that is part of the recommended solution.
Thank you, Dana. So it sounds like the same problem happens for you in all three browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge. This is helpful information!
We're still working with SuccessFactors admins, and we'll keep you posted on what we uncover!- DanaCollins-0eeCommunity Member
Great! Thank you!

We just started experiencing the same error message. Our SCORM files are created in a custom application built in ColdFusion. We just upgraded our Cold Fusion engine and are now receiving the same error message (An error was detected: getzipFile(filename, uploadID,addXMLFilesOnly) error occured while retrieving the file from db. )
I was able to use Windows add to compressed folder to rezip the contents and then upload to SuccessFactors. - SibaPrasadPadhiCommunity Member
Let me know if here the issue is fixed or we need some process here?

The issue is not fixed.
Hi Dana! We've uncovered a new clue that might help us finally nail down why this issue is happening.
We are working with a customer in a support case who was seeing the exact same issue you were seeing -- every Rise 360 course export would result in an error when uploaded to SuccessFactors.
However, when the course was exported from a personal computer outside of the network, there was no error! We found that the the security software on their network added extra metadata to the exported Rise 360 courses, and that caused an error in SuccessFactors.
Here's how you can help:
Please export any Rise 360 course from a personal computer outside of your work network, and upload that file to SuccessFactors from the same personal computer. You can try the same process with the file I shared here. Let me know how that goes!

Hi Alyssa, I will speak with our IT Security team, but we are not allowed to access Successfactors from non-company (non-network) computers. So, this may not be a solution for us.
Are you able to remove whatever is adding the metadata to the file in Rise? I'm asking since this does not occur with Storyline or Studio, it seems that the issue is still on the Articulate side?
Thanks,
Dana

The same is true for us.

YEs, this needs a fix as manual upload is not a way for volume based publishing process. Can there be a automated folder structure that could published/upload successfully in SuccessFactors.

Hi Simone, please see the previous posts from Alyssa. She has been partnering with SAP SF on this issue. This is what helped them get this far. :) I agree with you that we need a viable solution. Fingers crossed they can get this to work like Storyline and Studio do. ;)

True. I missed that part. Thank you, Dana!
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the new information you've shared in the last couple of days.
Stephen -- I appreciate you letting us know that you were able to download a Rise 360 course from home and successfully upload it to SuccessFactors. This supports our theory that network security software could be adding metadata to Rise 360 output files. Why doesn't this happen to Studio 360 and Storyline 360 output files?
Studio 360 and Storyline 360 are installed on your desktop. When you export LMS files from these tools, the entire export process happens locally on your hard drive. You aren't downloading anything from the web.
Rise 360 is a web app. When you export LMS files from Rise 360, a file is downloaded from the web, and network security software gets involved in that download process.
This is also why you aren't able to successfully upload the sample Rise 360 course I shared earlier in this discussion thread. When you download the sample file from the E-Learning Heroes website, the network security software adds metadata to the file.
In short, this is going to happen to any file you download from the web, but not on files you export from desktop software.
Please let me know if you have any further questions about this!

E como se resolve isso?
Hi Pamela,
Could you please share a copy of your course with our team as well as which LMS you're using? Please open up a support case here and share the error message that you received with our support engineers. They'll be able to assist you and your team.

Alyssa,
Hi Alyssa, I understand the difference between the web based and the desktop based publishing. I'm just curious as to why this worked for everyone (see many previous posts) until summer 2019 and then it started doing this. Since Rise is the common denominator with all of the companies reporting this issue, can you tell us what changed in Rise in 2019 that caused this metadata to be added? It's puzzling that this worked for so long and then suddenly didn't work for many of us.
