For Me, It's Variables. What about you?
Hi everyone!
This isn't a question; it's a post to commiserate with others who may have struggled. After watching Quick Tips #39 webinar about 16 times (no kidding!), I finally figured out how to set up a calculation with variables. When I tried one more time, I started typing a desperate post here asking for help, and it worked. I've always been fascinated by variables, but they don't always love me back!
I'm curious. What is currently or has been your biggest learning curve with developing in Articulate SL or Rise? Or maybe it's not the tools but some other aspect of eLearning, like visual or graphic design, that is a bit of a hurdle.
Tell me.
KK
P.S. Those Quick Tips webinars really are doing God's work.

Variables are my one of my favorite features! Mixed with trigger conditions, those provide the real power in Storyline.
My pain point is graphic design. I get by, because I'm usually working with a company's branding standards anyway. Still, I envy the folks who are visually creative.
P.S. I agree with you about the Quick Tips. I typically watch the recorded versions (Watch Storyline 360 Webinars - Articulate 360 Training), so I can play them at a faster-than-normal yet still understandable speed, and slow them down as needed. I always learn something new from each episode.

I agree about the variables and triggers which is why I'm determined to master it!
Visual design is kind of tricky because it's very subjective.

It was motion paths, I never really used them in Powerpoint and had limited use for them in Storyline. And then a built a crazy chess type game with 16 pieces, where you had to get near one piece and the others had different rules (avoid, move towards) and I built it all in Storyline after that I have never avoided motion paths.

I love this! You threw yourself into something that increased your skill and comfort. That's my goal with variables too. I'm going to keep finding a reason to use them!
