Hi everyone, I was wondering about having the option/capability to watch a video on full screen. For example: place a video file into the presentation, and while watching it, have the option to play at full screen. Is this an function to switch on prior to publishing, or is this something related to the actual video file itself? On a previous platform, the user was able to play the same video files in full screen. Thanks

Hi there Thomas! Have you inserted the video as an MP4 file? There isn't a full screen button as a part of the Storyline video controls or within the Storyline player itself. If you want the embedded video to play full-screen within the Storyline player, you'll want to adjust the Player Properties to 'Resize browser to fill screen' and 'Scale player to fill browser window'. Another option is to insert the video as a Web Object (for example from YouTube or Vimeo). That would allow you to us the normal video controls, which often include full screen viewing. If you insert the video as a Web Object and you don't see the full screen button, it could be because the web browser is restricting fullscreen mode for embedded iframe content.

Having a full screen option without having to use web objects or slide layers would being a great addition, surely someone must have requested it by now?

I'm totally confused why there is no fullscreen button like every player out there for video. I'm talking about video control inside the player. the player is already set to fill screen and browser but the video is on screen with text. So does one have to build a custom control bar for the video where the fullscreen would be a motion path or grow to get the video to seem larger onclick?

Really feel like this is something which has been, gone and will now never happen. It's 2021 and we can't have a full screen button on a video player?

It will be very useful to have the option of adding a button to enlarge the video full-screen on a case-by-case basis. I agree with many users here in this post; sometimes the full-screen feature is needed when trying to display a video that has detail that can be unreadable at any other size than the full-screen size.

It's very frustrating that we get 360 VR support but not a full screen video button for intergated video files. I was communicating with our 3rd party resller of storyline who had contacted Articulate, and was told that this adding this isn't on the to do list yet - despite being on this thread for years ans alos no doubt multple feature requests (I've done it at least twice)

  I'm with Erin here. This must surely be a simple function to implement. Articulate has obviously spent a lot of time implementing the 360 VR feature, which is a "oh it can do that if I ever need it" feature.
  
  A Full screen option is a function that is critical for embedded video files for those of us that want to keep video integral to our course and not embedded via a separate streaming site. Our course has over 20 hours of video content, so you can imagine how frustrating it is for us and our customers that this fundamental feature - which I believe is also an important "Accessibility" function, has not been included OR even is not on the "roadmap" as yet.
  
  Articulate needs to give an open and honest answer as to why it isn't.

    You are actually with the entire community also they need timing feature on the video or player. This is just lazy design.

So... it has been around 5 years since this has been brought up and supposedly added to your log of feature requests. Where is this feature at as of April 2022? I still do not have the player options to play local mp4 files at full screen. Did this request get lost?

While I don't have a specific timeline for this feature, you can see in our feature roadmap that full-screen mode is part of the accessible video controls currently in development.
