How can I make a background music play continuously across multiple slides/layers?
Hello all,
I want to insert a background music to multiple slides. These slides will automatically play without showing the "Previous""Next"button, so I wish the music track could continuously play through these slides without being cut off.
Is that possible to do that?
Or if not, is there a way to fade in/out the music at the beginning and end of each slide?
Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the new features we've included is:
- Create immersive experiences with continuous background audio that sets the tone and keeps learners engaged.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you have questions!

Thanks so much for this, Owen! I'm new to JavaScript. Is there a way to attach the audio file within the course instead of linking it to an outside location?

Yes, but it takes a few steps.
Check out this discussion.
If it doesn't make any sense, shoot me an email with your questions and I'll see what I can do.

Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded to Storyline 3 and can't seem to add the background music using the same steps as mentioned above. I've been trying to research on this since yesterday. Can anyone help?
Hi Rovie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Looks like Ashley reached out to you here as well.
Hopefully other users will chime in if they have this set up for Storyline 3.

I followed the directions above from Somya just now and it works: "I added the music in Master Slide and it automatically runs."
That's awesome Loretta - thanks for chiming in to share.

Why isn't this just a feature.....if you had this we could use storyline to create visual novels. This is a huge market with pretty poor tools right now.

Hi Maggie.
I know it isn't the best way to do it, but I improvised. here are the steps to do:
1- Publish your storyline file (lms mode/scorm 1.2, for example).
2- Open a new storyline file, then go to the tab Insert> record screen.
3- Preview your story.html with chrome or IE.
4- Start to record.
5- After recording all, insert your favourite audio file and ta-da!!
It's not the reccomended way, but works well.
Please developers, help us to make it easier!!

I have been researching this issue for months now, and I’m seeing these treads from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018. Seriously? It’s almost the end of 2019 and Articulate still hasn’t fixed what seems to me to be a must have feature. How can you not have continuous play?!!!

The JS solutions should still work with one change, you have to fire the JS code after or at the point in time when a user interacts with the page. This isn't a storyline issue, rather, it is a browser security requirement.
Do you have a file you can share that we can troubleshoot?
