How do I show incorrect questions without providing the correct answer?

I created a quiz that draws random questions and I am trying to get the results page to show the user the questions they got wrong but not provide them with the correct answer. They are supposed to use that information to go back to their departments to learn, so they can retest in a month. I would also like the results emailed to me so I can forward that email to their manager for training assistance.

  • Hello Lina-Myree,

    Happy to help!

When you edit the "Review results" trigger of your quiz, you'll see these two options in the edit window:

Disabling the "Show correct/incorrect responses when reviewing" option will remove the correct and incorrect answers from being displayed when the quiz is reviewed, and enabling the "Review only incorrect questions" will remove all correctly answered question slides in review mode. Check out this article for more information on available settings for your Result slide.

Based on your design requirement, try disabling the first option and enabling the second option to see if this configuration works for you!

Hi, I have the same question.

The "Review only incorrect question" just shows the questions the learner answered wrong. But still the learner sees which answers would have been right.

We have also the need for showing a learner which question was wrong but NOT telling him which answers would have been right. With the same aim to give him a hint where he was wrong, but not telling him what would have been right. So he can go back to the learning content to find out himself the right answer.

Is there a possibility to show the wrong questions to the learner without telling him the right answers?

      Hello Karin!

We don't have a default way to do this in Storyline 360 where you can just show the learner's answer without displaying if it is correct or incorrect.

If you're looking for a workaround, I suggest adding a Review Layer and using a shape to cover icons that indicate the correct or incorrect answer.

I've recorded a demo to share how to remove the icons.

Please let me know if you have additional questions!
