How to make direct calls from Articulate Rise

Hi,

I am building a resource that will have information on contacts available to our service users while our service is closed during Xmas.  I would like to give the ability to click on a telephone number and make a direct call from Rise rather than copy and paste.  I have tried to add a tel:xxxxxxxxxx within a hyperlink but this doesn't work.  Is there a way to do this that other members have managed?

  • Hi there, thanks for your question! While I don't know of a way to hyperlink text to a phone number, you can link a button to a phone number!

Edit the button, and choose Destination: Link to a relative URL. In the link field, type tel:5551234567

I would recommend typing the phone number in the button label to encourage learners to tap the button from their mobile devices.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like to tap the button from an iPhone. I hope this helps you!

I have a further question on this topic.
Under Interactive / Accordion, if a link is specified, a phone number cannot be dialed using the tel:+437327644184 function.
However, using a link under Interactive / Button, the direct dialing solution works.

Is there a solution to fix this function in the Accordion as well?

      Hi Rufhilfe_OOE,

The solution will only work using a button stack because only the button stack has this option: Destination: Link to a relative URL. I'll let other community members chime in in case there's a Javascript solution that might work for you!
